H-A Through Tony Neate 28.02.02 Helping us to relate more truly and deeply to our inner or higher Self, the spark of God within. Exploring the scientific and atheistic concepts of 'God' and 'There is no God'. As each one of us moves through the journey of evolution, we have choice, we have the freewill to make that choice and as we go forward we create and make relationships with other spirits in other bodies. We start to share and the single thought, the single wish, suddenly becomes a collective thought, a collective wish. In choosing a body to take our experience forward and to reincarnate once again, we have the choice of going out on our own or incarnating alongside other energies that can share with us an understanding, a laugh, and enjoy the excitement of choice together, knowing that with each decision we make we open the door to a new range of ideas, alternatives and options. Each one of you chose your particular lifetime because it would present a challenge and part of that challenge is the age in which you are living. You have incarnated at a time when the pressures in and around the planet have reached a crescendo of experience, where on one level the light has never been so bright and on another level the shadow has never been so heavy. 'How can I cope?' you ask yourself. 'I take one step forward and then it is as if I am being dragged back, pinioned to my own karma, which suddenly feels stuck. I feel stuck! I cannot breathe, I no longer know what lies around the next corner and I can no longer be myself. Self? What am I? Who am I? How am I? Yet I know I am a creation of God, and in that sense I am part of God'. Each one of you is part of God, living out an aspect of that Godhead, enabling the Godhead to breathe, to expand, to honour the unconditional love that it generates to all beings. So one of the most inner experiences of your journey as a spirit, is finding that God spark within. The Godhead has created you as a unique spirit, a unique thought of energy. Like a child you come into the world, not innocent because you carry within you the essence of all that you have ever been. You are also having to carry part of your parents' karma, but that is what you chose them for, that is what they chose you for. It is about honour, it is about respect, and it is about fundamental truth, being with that truth, feeling that truth, sensing that truth. The greatest challenge of any lifetime is finding your own raisin d'être. Why did I choose this life? What can this life offer me? What can I offer this life? Can I start to look within, to find that hidden wisdom within me? Is it like unscrewing the top off a bottle and emptying the contents onto a plate? No, it isn't, it is not like that at all because your memory is contained in an energy. So that part of you that you call your higher Self is like an etheric computer, it holds the memory of everything that you have ever thought, done, hoped for, hated, loved, feared, wanted. It is all there in that divine spark.
So how do you access it? Do you use a floppy disc? Do you take an eastern approach and say 'I will meditate everyday?' That is one approach. But another approach is to say to yourself when you are about to go to sleep at night:
I think that for the Aquarian person it is very important to acknowledge that intuitive part of your being, to allow your imagination to soar, to open you and allow you to soar. That will bring forth your wisdom, that will bring out what you have already experienced earlier in this life, in other lives and in pre-human existence. So you can do it through meditation, you can do it thought offering it up when you go to bed at night, saying: Remember, dearest friends, that it is humankind that condemns, not God. For God's love encompasses every thought and deed that has ever happened in any part of your evolution as spirit - whether in or out of incarnation. God does not recognise right and wrong; God only recognises compassion and love and honouring one's vulnerability. You can also find that God energy within you through allowing your intuition to expand. It may expand into healing, it may expand into drawing cartoons, through the way in which you teach or practise yoga, in the work that you do as a healer, counsellor, whatever - it matters not. It means that everything you do, you can look at and say either, 'Oh my God, I don't want to do this!' or you can say 'Oh, my God is in this. I can find new energy, new life in everything that I do!' You can then gradually begin to see that whatever vision or mission you have chosen for this lifetime, it must not be founded around an expectation. Because an expectation thwarts your choice and freewill, it places an investment on it that you don't need.
It is about honouring your life as a jewel, as a precious, beautiful jewel, knowing that every breath you take in a physical body can bring in new levels of wisdom and understanding, allowing your life to unfold, recognising your physicalness and that you need to keep part of you grounded. So I am not saying that you go through life not making decisions, but that the decisions you make need to be based on where you are at any one moment in your existence; because they may be different in half-an-hour's time, they may be different in one minute's time. So it is about saying: God energy comes through balance, not through extremes, not through sitting cross-legged on top of a mountain, not through declaiming in a university research laboratory, not in being leader of a country, although in one sense you are each all of these things. It is about honouring what you are and what you have to offer in this life. What do you want to be that you are not? What does the future hold that the present cannot already give you? And is that present relaxed and open and loving? Or is it stressed by your own self-punishment, by your own fear of looking out? So finding God within has to come through finding harmony, balance and bringing together the light and the shadow, to find that point of merging so that your miracle can begin within and expand without. When you start to apply your intuition and your imagination, you will begin to see that all kinds of things can spark you - a book, a play, a film, a story that touches you somewhere deeply within. These are all keys to finding God. God can be within a tear of emotion, God can be in a breath of fresh air on top of a hill, and God can be in a tea bag in your cup. So I think my message to you tonight is that contacting God within is not a miraculous feat, it is not some painful journey of climbing up a mountain, it is not some form of self-punishment, denial or sacrifice. Finding God within is an attitude of mind; it is an openness, a preparedness to allow yourself to honour your own being. How does that feel? Does that resonate for each of you? Does it simplify it for you? Yes, it does thank you H-A. You see, dear friends, it is not some weird, mystical esoteric practise; it is in fact the essence of simplicity, it is about you being you. And that is a very empowering thing for no longer do you feel dependent upon somebody else, no longer do you have to look up or look down but merely look within. You have indeed heard me say many times that evolution in a lifetime is about owning that you are able to change yourself and as you recognise those beautiful changes taking place so the barricades begin to fall, so the barbed wire disappears. You begin to realise that you are truly a thought of God, you are part of God, a very blessed, loving responsibility. What parent could be as generous as God? For God is not prescriptive, God is within you, you, you . So when we criticise ourselves… You are criticising God. How about that! I hope that will not be disappointing for anyone. Can you feel the God energy in this room now? Beautiful isn't it? But you don't need me to help to create it; you can do so from within yourself - that is the good news. You see I suppose we get stuck because we at times do silly things, we might say something spiteful or hurt somebody in some way - we have to have that inner part of us that looks and says, 'I wish I hadn't done that' or whatever. We need that part that can actually see ourselves, don't we? My dear, it is taking a step beyond what you are saying in the sense that you can only be yourselves and if one is going to live within one's truth one has to be prepared to offer what one is to the rest of humankind. In other words, you have to try as strongly as you are able to say, 'I cannot do this just to please somebody else, to please those around me, because I must do the right thing, I mustn't hurt anyone.' Because when you resolve never to hurt anyone, it is a major step towards hurting them because you are not living in your truth. For living in that truth means that you honour your vulnerability, you look at the light and shadow within you and slowly and gently allow yourself to grow beyond the need to criticise or condemn, to grow beyond the need to have to please others because it feels the right thing to do. It is somehow being able to lift yourself into a sense of Godliness that releases those needs within. Now I understand very fully that I am painting a picture that very hard to see and to live. But do not say to yourself, 'I could never be that' or ' I cannot do this, I cannot get beyond that'. Everyone can get beyond that - everyone can find that warmth and that God energy within because it is not complicated, it is humankind who complicates, not God. God is about simplicity. Do you understand what I mean? Yes, I suppose I was thinking that it is also about being aware and it is about learning to forgive, to forgive oneself straight away, otherwise you are condemning God, in a way. But if you can forgive yourself it brings forward that God spark within - perhaps - to be able to do that. Isn't the universe wonderful? It is infinite in what it has to offer. In this lifetime and in the next, life is a unique experience and so often we draw towards us the very issues that we are scared to confront and face. We are scared to confront and face things because it means we have to let the world see us as we truly are, so we become dishonest to ourselves and dishonest to others. And one can see this happening even in people of the highest possible integrity and spiritual belief and understanding, because they are vulnerable. So mine is not a criticism, nor a condemnation; rather it is trying to encourage you by saying to you, you dear, beautiful people, everything is possible if you ask for it. When you ask for help, if it is an open, spiritually inspired prayer or thought, it will usually be answered for you in a way that is right for you and where you are at this moment in the evolution of your spirit. Would anyone else like to share their thoughts? Yes, for those who do not believe in God, who consider there is no such thing as God, it would be very difficult for them to understand. I do not have an absolute belief in an entity called God, so there is a certain amount of confusion. I think I am half way in my own belief or self-realisation but I can think of many very lovely people to whom this language would be completely alien. And I wonder if there would have to be some other form of language, which would strike the same cord. When you said, do we feel the presence of God in here, I felt nothing - but of course I am so self-critical and thought, 'Well, what is wrong with me that I don't feel God or whatever it is. But the true thing is who we are and to point ourselves in the direction of who we are, to discover the truth. Maybe at the centre of that is what might be called God, but my conditioning is that it is great to feel that I could be something other than what I am. Probably many lifetimes of being taught this, I find it very, very difficult to reach the utterly simple - I mean it is a joke because what you are saying in many respects is total simplicity. To get to that point of self-realisation is totally difficult, in my opinion and certainly in my experience - that is part of the struggle. So I don't think I have really questioned but I've said what I felt. Thank you for your beautiful and honest thoughts, I did not say that God was a being, with respect. Even your scientists are beginning to acknowledge that there is some kind of energy that passes through the human body and is even brought down from parents and ancestors, which they cannot explain but they recognise that there is some kind of energy, OK? That is God. Yes, I can see this H-A. I think particularly of my brother who is one of the most beautiful people I think I know but he will adamantly say that there is no such thing as God. So, I wonder what form of understanding would come to him, it would have to be in a different way - he knows that there is no God and so do many of my rationalist, scientific minded friends! That is fine, that is not a problem but scientifically minded people fall into two camps, the light and the shadow; those who find beauty in what they do and those who look for the shadow, power and corruption. And if their understanding of God is in the energies of which they speak, that is fine - it is merely a different language, but it is the same energy. I have used words like God tonight because it is a term with which most of you in this room will be familiar and you will understand it as some kind of linking energy on which the universe is based. But you see I am not trying to create a teaching that says you must accept and believe in what I am saying, my purpose is to do no more than to enable people to start thinking, to start understanding, to start appreciating that there is something beyond just physicality. Sometimes it is difficult using scientific terms because scientific understanding changes all the time, does it not? And there are people in science who are ready to accept the new and those in science who want to hold onto the old. So you have the same problem in your scientists that you have with your theologians, I do not see the difference. For me it is all part of the picture and it is the intentions of people, whether they use the word atheism or if they want to believe in a path of some kind of divine spark, fine - I don't mind. What is important to me is that people are prepared to accept that there are no limitations and that you can think and devise something tomorrow, which takes your whole comprehension forward from where it is today. The word intimacy has been cropping up amongst people that I have been talking to and I wonder, in the context of what you were saying earlier, that this intimacy is not so much 'out there' but inside. Oh, yes, yes, yes. And so that is my lesson presumably? Oh, yes, yes, the intimacy within yourself to heal yourself, to know yourself, to love yourself (expressed with deep emotion and love), that is pure intimacy. And with that presumably the fear, the judgement - all those negative aspects are within us and once you lose them within, you do not have them without either. Yes, I agree. Thank you. Intimacy is a very beautiful word that I could very easily have incorporated through the sensitive, I must remind him of it next time because intimacy is about coming together on a body, mind, spirit level, is it not? Do you agree? There is a wholeness in it. So maybe one way to find the God within is through personal intimacy. Yes, so it is not an external thing at all is it? That's right, and thank you for adding to what has been said. I would like to ask, H-A, I understand the God within, the God spark. What I have difficulty with is separating the shadow from God - that God is only light and is only beauty. Because if we are to learn - and the greatest learning comes from the shadow - I find it very hard to see that that is separate from God. The shadow is not separate from God, my dear, the shadow is part of God because if you take away the light and the shadow there is no choice; it is the polarity that gives you choice in any situation. So the true state of Godliness is where the light and the shadow have come together to form a complete harmony and balance. Without the shadow you could not see the light and without the light you cannot experience the shadow; they are the two extremes of experience in any one given situation. Does that help or confuse? It helps, H-A. Thank you. I appreciate it is a difficult concept to take on board because it is very different from orthodox teaching. When I was speaking to a group in London recently, we were talking about the guidance of the planet, the guardian angel, the planetary deva. You must understand that the planetary deva is also both light and shadow; it is both the Mikaal and the Lucifer. So when a spirit gives guidance, either personally or collectively, what is drawn out of that guidance depends on what is within the person. In other words, if you take the sum total of all experience on your planet, including all the other kingdoms, the animal kingdoms, the plant kingdoms etc., the collective need of all those beings is drawing that quality from the guardianship of the planet. Now because the God energy is neither judgmental nor manipulative, all it can do is to pour love around the planet and hope that people will gradually begin to see that love is greater than fear; for love is the opposite of fear, is it not? Each one of you, as I see it, is a universe in yourself, your physical body and your complete being is made up of all different kinds of energy; you are a microcosm of a macrocosm, rather like a Russian doll. Now all that energy goes to make up you, your own personal universe, and your collective energy will draw from your own guidance accordingly, because your guardian angel also contains both light and shadow. Having said that, it has found a level of containing its own light and shadow that may be a little more subtle than your own. How all those different parts of you evolve is very important because they are all part of a collective and your will is part of the guardianship of you as a universe. So the more you allow your will to expand and grow, the more every part of you expands and grows and the energy that you give off expands and grows. People will look at you and say, 'My goodness, he/she has changed', and they begin to experience that energy from you and that is when you start to transform the world. Thank you, my blessings to you. If you would like to make a donation towards the costs of Channelling-Online, please click Donation Back to Transcripts page |
