"The Godhead, in itself, is an expanding level of energy where light and shadow have found total balance and harmony." H-A
Where did The Ten Commandments originally come from and why were they given? A positive, contemporary approach suggesting a way of life that shows respect for humanity and all other kingdoms
This evening, I wish to share with you some thoughts and ideas about what you call The Ten Commandments. The first thing is that they were channelled in a very similar way to which I speak through this sensitive. That is the first point that I wish to clarify.
Secondly, I want to take you back in history to the time of Atlantis, a civilisation that reached a peak in its technology and philosophy, but lost sight of the need to be aware of both the light and the shadow, the need to look up, the need to ground down.
When Atlantis destroyed itself, the spirits that emerged from that catastrophe and reincarnated in Ancient Egypt were very determined that there should not be a repeat pattern. But they went from one extreme to another. The Atlantean philosophy had been very open, very tolerant, so tolerant that it had moved beyond clear boundaries.
So the incarnations that followed in Egypt felt the need to create very strict boundaries. They decreed that one had to reincarnate into the same status, the same sex, and because this simply was not possible for some spirits deeply immersed in that dogma, they were unable to adjust when they left the body.
In the case of Moses, the needs of the society at that time were also for something that was very strict, very clear and boundaried, so that one could see very clearly where one stood and obey a set of rules. The set of rules that were created was intended to create small social units that were built around the family concept. They were, of course, the exact opposite to what had been happening in Atlantis. Can you blame them? They concluded, quite rightly, that the world was not yet ready in its evolution for this very open type of philosophy that the Atlanteans had enjoyed.
The philosophy I have offered is much stricter and much more boundaried than that of the Atlanteans, for I am trying to lift you forward in a very gentle but very clearly marked direction, to try and help you to see the possibilities of a much more liberal, understanding and loving society which can move beyond the need of petty rules and doctrines.
This is why I wanted to talk about The Ten Commandments It is not that they are wrong; it is not that they are right. It is just that society today is at a stage where it is poised to take a huge step forward; and in order to take this huge step forward it needs to embark on a new set of 'commandments'. Many of you know mine already: love, forgiveness, respect and acceptance; understanding the needs of the individual, understanding and realising that every spirit is different, the philosophy of unconditional love, moving beyond judgement, self realisation, self empowerment, acknowledging the divinity within.
So, what about these Ten Commandments? I am going to ask Ann to read them out one at a time and I would like to comment on each one so we can see where life was then and where we are today. Let us start with number one.
Yes, how can I disagree with that? But I would like to say that what I offer an aspect of God energy. There is only one God but that one God can manifest in many different ways for many different people and all those ways need to be honoured and respected.
Every spirit incarnate on this planet in whatever form of physical life, be it homo-sapiens, animal, vegetable, mineral kingdoms etc., is entirely individual, is entirely unique, is in its own space, its own level of evolution. And this means that every spirit has its own concept of God and needs to have its own concept of God; not a concept that teaches that it must believe in - or else! God never poses any threat. God only offers unconditional love, and gives you the choice to accept or reject it. God gives you the choice to see the light and the shadow for that is where true spirituality rests, it is in that mandorla, the vesica pisces, that place where two opposites overlap, where there is balance and understanding.
When I first spoke through this sensitive, I said that 'understanding is more important than knowledge'. Yes, there is one God, but that one God is fully cognisant of offering its wisdom in a way that can be seen from your own perspective, your own level of evolution, your own understanding. Furthermore, you are part of that God because you were created by it. And, as your spirit goes through various incarnations and experiences on different planes of existence, it uniquely gathers these experiences together; so that when it eventually reaches a point of evolution and understanding, in which it is ready to rejoin the Godhead, it can add to it. The Godhead in itself is an expanding level of energy where light and shadow have found total balance and a harmony. That is my comment on the first commandment. Let us now move on to the second.
I have a very simple answer to this one. This commandment was a true reflection of the anger and bitterness that had been carried over from Atlantis. When any channelling is given through any person throughout the planet, it meets the needs of those around the channeller.
Let me put it to you this way: those who have attended and joined me tonight have not done by coincidence or chance. You have come because you are giving the sensitive and me the right level of energy to deliver this lecture. Now, I don't mean by that that I have manipulated who comes, I certainly have not. But the energy that has gone out with the title has created its own selection.
God is certainly not a jealous god, but you must understand that God is both light and shadow. Many of you see the angels of God and the Devil as Michael and Lucifer. The Devil is not separate from God. God is both light and shadow because the Godhead is made up of the spirits that it has created - those who have embraced both light and shadow in balance, in total integration.
This was a commandment that met the needs of the time, but it is negative; Thou shalt not! The philosophy that I am offering you does not include the words: thou shalt not. If this planet is to rise above some of the shadow that it has created, with pollution, environmental problems, ecological problems, political problems, religious problems, it can only do so through unconditional love and by lifting itself above the need of feeding either Michael or Lucifer – one or the other. Let me put it another way.
If I feel there is a lot of shadow in this room, do I shine the light at that shadow and confront it, or do I bring it into balance? You will notice that I have always talked about harmonisation and balance. When I look at situations such as you have in Yugoslavia or Northern Ireland, I do not condemn and say one side is right and the other is wrong, for indeed, there is light and shadow on both sides. But the answer in both cases is to send out thoughts of harmony and balance, harmony and balance. So, that is my comment on the second commandment. Can we move to the third please?
That is quite an order, isn't it? I wonder if anyone truly understands what it means? You cannot force any spirit to follow the light or the shadow, you can only offer it love and understanding; you can only offer it enlightenment to try to help it makes its own conclusions. There is one lesson in this that is important to remember: in looking at the balance within your own heart, your own soul, your own mind and body; remember, you are not God, you are a part of God, and you are evolving in a process that includes choice between light and shadow at every step.
There is a very short word in your language, 'ego'. Indeed, if I may reiterate one of my own expressions, the moment of finding your importance is the moment of loosing it. This one is really warning people about the dangers of believing that you are right, believing that you have all the answers, believing that you are a saint or a sinner, for in my book there are no saints and no sinners, only individual spirits seeking in their own individual way. So, I would like to rephrase this by saying, 'I acknowledge my need to evolve, to experience, to honour my doubts, and to be able to find a balance between my doubts and my ego; that by bringing the two together I may find my way forward in harmony and through that harmony acknowledge my own divinity'. That is my comment on the third commandment.
Nice one, a little bit of modern psychology here, stress management! Yes, I approve of this one. I would like to rephrase it in a way by saying: by all means commit yourself to your mission, but find space for yourself in your life, find times when you can meditate, when you can consider that divine part of your being. Give yourself the luxury of being in touch with your own higher Self, the higher Self that is the part of you that contains your innate wisdom, all your past experiences, all your fulfilled and unfulfilled issues.
One of the two ways forward is to find this relationship between the soul and your higher self. In other words, the part of you that is in the now, and the part of you that has been and always will be, and the closer you can bring those two together, the easier you will find your true mission in this lifetime. To do that you need to have some kind of self-discipline where you allocate time for rest, time for play, and time for inner communion. Perhaps we can move on to the 5th.
In honouring your father and mother you need to understand that you chose them as well as they chose you. However, it is all very well to say, 'honour your father and mother', but sometimes a child, as it becomes an adult, bears much anger against both or one of its parents and you get a kind of ancestral energy generated that can perpetrate crime and violence.
So, 'honouring your father and mother' I would like to rephrase: try to understand your father and mother and to realise that when you chose to incarnate, your spirit chose parents who would provide the type of challenge that you needed in order to break yourself free from your unresolved issues, to give you a chance to move forward in your lifetime. Your spirit had the choice. It may have chosen parents who drag you further down; and if so, that is how it is. There are many options that can happen at the moment of conception and difficulties that can arise. I have spoken about this at some length in my lecture on Conceptional Healing.
I would like to use the words 'understand your parents' because you cannot really honour them until you can see and sort out your own issues in relation to them. As I have so often said, forgiveness is a force. If you haven't sorted out your anger beforehand, you cannot truly forgive. Forgiveness can only come about through being prepared to look within and understand why you are, where you are, and what your real issues are. Then you can honour your parents from the heart, and not because someone has told you that you should do so.Thank you.
I would like to change that one. I would like to change it into:'I wish to understand the need for violence within myself; and in understanding and facing it, I can move beyond the need for it. For if I want to kill, I am carrying out something that I have brought with me into this lifetime - something that I need to deal with, within'. So, it is an interesting one, isn't it, because it is strange that in so many countries in the world they say 'Its OK to kill if it is in the name of the law'. Humankind, how can you be so blind? Killing is killing whether it is done in the name of God, the law or in the name of jealousy or revenge.
I want to go back to when I first spoke through this sensitive, nearly fifty years ago. I said that it was sad that in your society if a person is sick and has an illness, you take them to a hospital, you nurture them, your nurse them, you do everything you can in your power to help them to become well. If a person commits what you legally call a crime, you want to incarcerate them, you want to punish them, and you want to take revenge on them.
Let me tell you something: the person who committed that crime did it for a reason and they are just as sick as the person with a disease in hospital. They need understanding; they need help to take them beyond the need for that violence. I accept that maybe you have to lock them up so that they don't kill others. But I think you have to spend a great deal more time as we move into this new century, this new millennium, to really understand that each one of you is the sum total of all that you have been; you reflect your ancestors, you reflect the different energies you have been caught up in. But deep down in every spirit that has been created by the Godhead, is that spark of wanting, ultimately, to move forward, to find that balance between light and shadow. So that is my comment on 'Thou shalt not kill.' Quite a complicated comment.
Let me start by saying that a true partnership/marriage in the eyes of God takes place on the level of the spirit, for the Divine Sanction only falls upon a unison in which there is a true affinity on all levels. However, all relationships need to be conducted with responsibility by both partners and the seduction of one partner by a third party can create negative karma for all three involved.
This commandment was a very social one, of course, and I would like to change it by saying, it is important to remember that no relationship is forever. Two people come together, of whatever sex, because they are drawn together to achieve something. Now when they have achieved whatever they have met up to do, they have a choice. They can either go on building on that, or they can move apart.
What you call 'marriage' has been governed by social need as much as by spiritual need; and if two people living together are unhappy and no longer love each other, it is better that they part with that understanding, rather than allow the relationship to go on until they start to hate each other and revenge and vengeance come into the picture.
Any relationship has to be worked on. It is not just about two people coming together. It is about being prepared to understand each others' vulnerabilities, to understand your own vulnerabilities and so on. As I said before, no relationship is forever, and I would rather see two people come together and then part in honour and love, than eventually destroy the relationship in anger and fury. I know that there is a question about what happens to the children. Children are very susceptible to their parents' moods. After all, their parents are their role models. But I am sure that most children would rather see their parent's part with understanding and proper arrangements, than see the family held together in fear, revenge and anger. This can leave the child with much karma to sort out.
I would like to change this to' honour the society into which you have incarnated. You need to understand its richness and its poverty, its light and its shadow. Respect your neighbour, for with respect for one's neighbour one does not steal from him.' It is about creating positive values where trust and love can overtake the abuses and negative actions that have become so manifest on your planet.
I have already covered this one, so I would dispense with it. But let me say that in order not to bear false witness against your neighbour, you have, first of all, to not bear false witness with yourself. This is about really coming to terms with yourself, looking inside and asking yourself, Why am I bitter about this? Why am I angry about that? Because if you can start to respect yourself then you will respect your neighbour.
What I am really trying to do with The Ten Commandments is to say, this is a moment to stop treating them as negatives and to turn each one into something positive, where we can move forward rather than be incarcerated in the prison of the past.
Another social commandment and one which I covered in my previous answer. You need to start by dealing with yourselves, remembering that you are the only person in the world you can actually change; and then welcome the opportunity to change
Life is a quite wonderful opportunity; it is an opportunity for the spirit to experience through the medium of the physical body, to feel anger physically, to feel laughter and tears physically. To understand that avoiding friction in a physical body is not possible, that physical life is part of the ladder, like a class at school. At the end of the term you can roll up to another class; but if you haven't learned enough in that term, you will have to come back for another term, another term and another term.
In conclusion, I want to say that God offers unqualified support. God offers unconditional love. God does not judge, or condemn. God does not punish. So, you have to ask for God's help, because the Godhead is not going to make you do anything; otherwise God would be destroying the gift of free will that it has given you...
So, dear friends, those are my thoughts and observations on The Ten Commandments; I have tried to show you how they have arisen, and how they can help you to move forward with a new understanding and a new level of enlightenment. Thank you.
My final comment? I don't like the word 'commandment'. Let us substitute the word 'suggestion'…Thank you.
I hope I have given you a great deal to think about. You see, this is a moment for radical new thinking, a moment for moving beyond the constrictions and the punitive philosophies of the past, this is a constructive philosophy, positive in its outlook, offering new riches of bliss and understanding, not just for an elect few, but for any spirit that makes that choice. You decide what class you are in, not God, interesting isn't it? As ever I am here for your questions.
Good Evening H-A, there are two things I am interested in. The first is, were there to any knowledge any further commandments that were channelled at that time, and which were not made public? And do you have thoughts of any additional one's that you would add now?
Well, certainly one of the commandments which has been suppressed relates to reincarnation. This has largely been suppressed for political reasons, as you know, it was suppressed in Christianity during 6th Century. So that is certainly an aspect of evolution that has been suppressed. Would I like to add one? I don't like the word commandments; I would like to substitute the word, suggestions.
Seek and ye shall find. I think the one that I would add as a separate one, would be to emphasise the importance of understanding the light and shadow in yourselves, and in the understanding of that light and shadow, it enables people to move beyond the need for blame and judgement, of others and themselves. As I said when I first spoke through the sensitive, 'I am what I am, no more and no less' and that is certainly one commandment that I have not changed, and that applies to you and to everyone else on this planet.
I would like to include my own four words of love; the importance of learning to love oneself in order that one can love another and that one cannot really begin to love until one learns to forgive and that one cannot forgive truly until it comes from the heart, and that means dealing with the aspects with you that you find difficult to forgive. One important thing I tried to point out to everyone here, is that, remember when you look back over this life and past lives, you are not looking back at actual deeds you are looking back at memories and those memories are subjective. Now, with care and with patience, when you have found a way of releasing your anger in a more constructive way, you can then repattern some of those past experiences, but you have to convince yourself that you can repattern them, but any past experience is repatternable, with understanding.
Having dealt with the need of not being able to forgive, one can start to forgive, and it has to start with oneself. In order to be able to forgive, one needs to be able to respect and until humankind can respect itself it will not be able to respect the other animal kingdoms, the other plant kingdoms, the ecology, the environment. All this abuse; the torture of animals to produce drugs and foods, the torture of vegetables to produce food, it is basically coming from humankind's lack of respect for itself. And the key to finding that respect has to come back to that one critical word, acceptance, 'I am what I am, no more, no less.' That means accepting yourself warts and all. Thank you.
Can I just ask you something, how do you torture a vegetable?
By not allowing it to develop and grow and deal with the environment in a natural way. If you feed it unbalanced chemicals, if you spray it with harmful poisons, you are corrupting the whole structure and soul of that vegetable and every vegetable has a spirit in it, from my perspective it is a living being.
Yes, I see what you mean.
And you torture the planet by interfering with the balance of the structure by destroying the rainforest, by the abuse of fossil fuels, by the short sightedness of not finding other means of fuel, by greed, avarice and money. And all these things are coming from lack of respect. A spirit in a vegetable does not have sentient feelings in the same way as a human being or an animal does, But I can tell you that for a spirit who decides to go into a vegetable, a flower or a plant, the life of that plant is a part of the evolution of that spirit, it is just a form of evolution that is different from your own.
H-A, Is it possible to love unconditionally in the human form?
No, it is not possible to totally love unconditionally whilst in the physical body, but life is a part of the chain of karma and evolution and it is about being prepared to try and move towards it.
The challenge between light and shadow exists on every level of experience until you reach the Godhead. When you hear this rather more conventional term of a "fallen angel" and you look in your conventional concept of seven planes, a spirit on the sixth plane of wisdom can decide to reject the Godhead that created it, in other words it embraces the shadow. In order to do that, it cannot use God universal energy because it has rejected it, so it has to take its energy by controlling other spirits, so in any organisation where there is total control you are actually bordering very close to the shadow. The challenge of life is this movement between the two polarities.
I used to give an example of Nelsons Column: If you were a bird and you flew fifteen feet up Nelsons Column and looked around, you would see Trafalgar Square and that would be your understanding of the universe. As you go further up Nelsons Column, and you get two thirds of the way up, you would suddenly find you could see quite a part of London. To me, Nelsons Column represents truth in this example. When you reach the top of Nelsons Column you see the whole of greater London, it is the same truth but from a much greater perspective. In each life that you live you are beginning to broaden your perspective of understanding what unconditional love is.
The more you can release your own stuckness, your own fear, the more you can come closer to understanding the true meaning of unconditional love. I will remind you, of course, that 2000 years ago, Jesus the man who had the Christ energy within him, taught unconditional love. He also taught about moving beyond judgement and he talked about turning the other cheek, of tolerance and understanding. It is very sad that the planet has been unable to embrace so little of that understanding. 2000 years later, we have another opportunity to bring that teaching forward, and that is what others like me and I am doing. Thank you for your question.
My blessings to you all, and Good Night.
