The Year Ahead - 2002

A year of surprises, rebirths, a renaissance - releasing of previous stuckness, joining of spiritual beliefs. A more compassionate look at criminals. Where does abuse start? Feel your wholeness coming together within.

 

Today is the first day of a new year in your calendar so what does that mean? Does it mean that everything is going to change? Does it mean that there is going to be a sudden flash of lightening and miracles and cataclysms will all happen at the same time?!

 

As Earth approaches the age of Aquarius, you are increasingly going to find yourselves having to face opposite sides of a polarity - the light and the shadow, not only around the planet but within yourselves. Which is why, especially following the events of the 11th September, I have emphasised the importance of bringing together the masculine and the feminine sides of human nature - the logical, rational side and the intuitive, creative side - within every person on the planet. Whether you are male or female, there are these two aspects within you; and if you try to live your life using only one of those aspects you will find yourself steering a ship without a rudder, a ship that is going to take you into troubled waters. For you will be using only half of yourself - and that leaves you in a very unbalanced state.

 

Many of you have heard me say that on one level there is no such thing as right or wrong, there is only where you are; a statement that will be very difficult for many people to hear and accept especially following the 11th September. But I asked then and I ask again now, who are the terrorists? What is a terrorist? Is it someone who wants to be heard? Is it someone no one wants to hear? I am not defending acts of violence that cause distress and grief to thousands of people, I am only saying that these acts come about through a lack of balance, through a lack of understanding of the masculine and feminine on a personal, a national and an international level.

 

Yes, because of what happened in the past year, 2002 does represent an interesting and fascinating opportunity. I described the events of 11th September as providing an unprecedented opportunity for humankind to come together, to realise that there are all kinds of people in the world all trying to seek and find a way forward. So, how does that apply to 2002?

 

Again it is going to be a year of surprises, but also a year when there can be a series of re-births, a renaissance, on both an individual and collective level, when things that have been churning over inside you, month after month, year after year will suddenly find a different perspective. It will be a kind of releasing of the stuckness of what you believe to be your vision, your mission, your way forward. There are many ways forward and they are all appropriate in their particular way.

 

So it is going to be a year when you need to move beyond the need to judge yourself. Rather, try to forgive yourself and, above all, be yourself. It is not just about walking your talk, it is about being your talk, it is about recognising your uniqueness and allowing that to spill over, to spill out.

 

The next few years will see many changes in spiritual beliefs; some will open up, some will close down. What is important to understand and to remember is that any spiritual understanding, any great revelation, can only be in the now and that tomorrow may need a totally different viewing of that statement, of that same revelation, because you will no longer be the person you were yesterday. Today you are the person you are today and tomorrow you will be somebody else. It is a time for freeing yourself from motives that are bound and stem from fear.

 

There is much talk about Europe at the moment, whether or not to join more closely; and yet the formation of that European union has been one of the most significant things that has happened on your planet as a move towards world peace. And if you try to destroy that vision by ‘pettying’ about what will happen to this money or that money, then forget it - there will be no union; because union is about coming together, it is about being heard, it is about being allowed to speak, it is about feeling your way forward together.

 

With the advent of electronics the world is much smaller, you know what is happening on the other side of the Earth as soon as it takes place - what is it that you want it to be? What is it that you see within? Look within, look within now, I ask you, each one of you to look inside. Become conscious of your heart beating, become conscious of the energy that is you, your body, your being, feel it beginning to glow, for as you look within and see and sense within, that is your spiritual source. You are all part of God, you are a creation of God, you are God, everybody is God - but you are part of God that has volunteered to go out on an expedition, an expedition to find and seek, to add more to your own source. Revel in, feel your uniqueness, acknowledging it, knowing that you have power to add to the Godhead in your own unique, loving, gentle way.

 

What has this got to do with 2002? A great deal because 2002 is about looking within in order to look without, by letting go of your fear of change, by planting that seed within and allowing it to sprout, by allowing the energies of centres like Runnings Park to spread and move outwards. Don’t try to keep them in - let them go out, out, out! Make a statement that reaches the other side of the world, make a statement that reaches the other side of your world, individually.

 

Yes, it will be a year of action, but it will be action that comes from your own self. It is a time when you need to say to yourself, I do have understanding, I do have forgiveness in my heart, I don’t want to judge and kill people, I want to give them love, I want to help them to find themselves. After all, is that not what healing is about, helping people to become whole in every part of themselves? It needs to be a year of the self-healing process, of allowing yourself to become yourself; then it can reach out, then others around you can change because they can sense the change within you.

 

The terrorism in this world is the fear in your heart, think about it… When you feel angry, think about it - there is always another way. When you want to hurt somebody else, or yourself, there is always another way. This is a year for abandoning rigidity; a year for moving beyond boundaries, for as that change happens within, it will automatically happen without. Let us move beyond condemning ourselves when we think we have made a mistake. There are no mistakes - there is a reason for everything that you do and everything that you create.

 

This will be a year when there will be opportunities to join up with other spiritual understandings and beliefs, for there is no one right way; and it needs the acknowledgement of that and of having the liberty to feel the freedom of inner choice. You don’t have to do this, or that, or the other - you can just be what you are, no more, no less. It is an exciting picture, isn’t it? On one hand it calls for real effort, real acknowledgement, real acceptance; and on the other hand it is offering you freedom, releasing yourself to be yourself. You don’t have to decide what others should think about you any more, just be what you are.

 

Let us take a more compassionate approach to those whom you would describe as being criminals, crooks, paedophiles - for remember, these people need as much help as someone who is physically sick. In both cases, it has come about through a lack of balance, through fear, through trying to deal with inner abuse. Where does abuse start? Where does it end? It can be mental, it can be physical, it can be spiritual because remember, being spiritual is about both light and shadow. If you want to draw down heavenly powers for your own personal benefit in a selfish, fearful way, then you are drawing on the shadow, you are not drawing on the light. In any case, it is no good just drawing on the light because that will blind you to the shadow - and without the shadow, there can be no light. It is about reaching up in a balanced way and as you look at your fellow beings realising that there is light and shadow in everyone of them. It is a question of helping yourself and them to find that balance.

 

So to sum up, this is a year for re-evaluation and really acknowledging the masculine and feminine within or the feminine and masculine within. This is a year of looking in, of being prepared to really let go of some of those barriers that restrict you in what you are trying to do, barriers that can affect you, not only on a spiritual level, but also on mental, psychological and physical levels - remember that. So definitely a year of challenge, a year of change, a year of letting go - it can be a year of laughter, it can be a year of tears - it is your choice.

 

I invite you to share this energy - feel the unconditional love around you at this moment, feel the anger around you at this moment, feel the totality of light and shadow around you at this moment. I offer an aspect of universal energy to each one of you, without condition, as a gesture - you can take it if you will and allow it to expand within, it will help you to bring together those aspects of your being that sometimes feel so fragmented. So as the year goes on, if you feel fragmented remember these words and call on that energy, the energy of wholeness within. I can only conclude, my friends, by saying, I love you, I extend my love to each and every one of you and I thank you for the love that I can feel in return.
