If we were to sum up "Food
State" in a few simple words, we would describe it as a nutrient that fits into
the human food chain, and as such is a self-satisfied material. The reason we
would describe Food State nutrients as self-satisfied is because being
re-natured they naturally contain all the necessary co-factors needed for easy
absorption in the body.
Chemical form nutrients (the standard nutrients
offered in today's health market - referred to as U.S.P. or B.P.
form nutrients) are what we would describe as unsatisfied materials.
(Yet many companies still refer to these as natural nutrients).
Before chemical nutrients can become absorbed they
must first find a protein, lipid and carbohydrate to bond to, (this
process is called chelation, and the more a nutrient is chelated the
better it will be absorbed). As a highly chelated material Food
State re-natured nutrients will be easily absorbed and used by the
body in the gentle non-aggressive way that nature intended.
Even inorganic nutrients can be re-natured
successfully. A good example is calcium carbonate (chalk), a
naturally occurring and form of calcium and one of the most commonly
sold forms of calcium. Although it will have a very high label claim
as to the content of calcium its absorption is very low because
humans were not meant to eat chalk (rock).
In nature a plant would grow on the chalk and draw
up the calcium carbonate. In this process the calcium would become
highly chelated and organic and be made into a form which the human
body is able to readily absorb and use. This process puts calcium
into the human food chain and is called re-naturing", and is now in
a Food State form.
The amount of nutrient ingested is not as
important as the form in which it is presented to the body. As a
rule of thumb nutrients which are presented in the same form as they
naturally occur in food are the best absorbed and used by our
bodies. It is logical and a law of survival - our bodies have
evolved over the millennia to have receptor sites and pathways to
maximise the nutrients available in naturally occuring foods.
Chemical nutrients are a relatively recent discovery and our bodies
are not set up to accept and use them.
Food State products are hence
¨ Better absorbed
¨ Better retained
¨ Better used
than standard supplements....
